Kim Youngrok: "Kim Minseok Should Be Allowed to Start Working as Prime Minister Without Delay" Kim Youngrok Jeonnam Governor

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, has called for the swift National Assembly confirmation of Kim Minseok, the nominee for Prime Minister.

On June 27, through his Facebook page, Governor Kim stated, "The confirmation hearing for Kim Minseok, the nominee for Prime Minister, was adjourned without the adoption of a review report," expressing his regret over the situation.

Governor Kim emphasized, "For the Lee Jaemyung administration, which was launched without a transition committee, to properly address both the recovery of livelihoods that have collapsed and external challenges such as the US-led tariff war, the appointment of the Prime Minister?who is the first step in forming the cabinet and holds the right of nomination?is urgent." He added, "Kim Minseok is a politician who has steadfastly defended democracy and the legitimacy of the Republic of Korea against forces of insurrection and their alliance with the prosecution."

He continued, "Kim Minseok warned in advance about Yoon Sukyeol's emergency martial law, saving the Republic of Korea when it was on the brink," and wrote, "He was instrumental in protecting Lee Jaemyung, then party leader, from the oppression of Yoon Sukyeol's permanent power faction and played a leading role in the birth of a government based on popular sovereignty."

He also stated, "As the first Prime Minister of the Lee Jaemyung administration, he is the right person to accomplish reform tasks and create a new future for the Republic of Korea. He has already demonstrated this through his activities in the National Assembly and as the chief senior member of the Democratic Party." He added, "I hope the National Assembly will swiftly confirm Kim Minseok as Prime Minister so that he can immediately begin working for the people’s livelihoods."
