Police Launch Special Crackdown on Corruption and Irregularities... "Restoring Public Trust"

The National Police Agency plans to actively utilize the intelligence and information networks of 259 police stations nationwide to establish an investigation system centered around city and provincial governments. At the same time, for assets acquired through criminal proceeds, the agency intends to pursue aggressive recovery efforts, led by the Criminal Proceeds Tracking Investigation Team.

The National Police Agency will also expand cooperation at each stage of investigation with anti-corruption bodies such as the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the prosecution. When necessary, it will establish consultative bodies with relevant regional agencies to build an integrated partnership that covers all stages from crackdown, investigation, and administrative action to institutional improvement.

A representative from the National Police Agency stated, "Through this crackdown, we aim to provide substantial support for the new government's people-centered policy agenda and strive to realize a safe and just society."
