Woori Bank Undergoes Organizational Restructuring: "Customer-Centric and Digital Enhancement"

Woori Bank announced on June 27 that it had carried out a major restructuring of its headquarters organization to establish a customer-centric organizational system, strengthen its digital platform competitiveness, and secure future growth engines.


First, the bank reorganized some departments within the Retail Group and Corporate Group to focus on customers. The product development and marketing teams for retail customers were integrated into the "Retail Product Marketing Department," while the sales strategy and product development teams for corporate clients were merged into the "Corporate Sales Strategy Department." To enhance one-stop support for corporate clients in areas such as funds and foreign exchange, the "Foreign Exchange Business Division" was newly established within the Corporate Group. In addition, the bank created the "SOHO Business Department," which will be dedicated to launching exclusive products for small office/home office businesses and providing management consulting, thereby supporting the stable growth of self-employed individuals and small business owners.

To strengthen its digital platform competitiveness, Woori Bank established the "Digital Sales Group," which includes the WON Banking Business Department, Platform Business Department, and WON Mobile Business Department. The bank aims to further enhance customer convenience by expanding hyper-personalized and customized services on the "Woori WON Banking" application. Woori Bank also plans to further develop its platform-based businesses, such as the digital supply chain finance platform "WonBiz Plaza," as well as airline payment and settlement services.


In line with the trend of the AI transformation (AX), the bank expanded and reorganized the existing "AI Platform Department" into the "AI Strategy Center" to innovate AI-based business processes and secure future growth engines. Under the HR Group, Woori Bank established the "TECH HR Department" to strengthen IT and digital development capabilities and improve productivity, with the goal of leading the industry. The bank also created the "Corporate Synergy Team" under the Corporate Group to strengthen partnerships with corporate clients and pursue joint projects, including the discovery of new future business opportunities.


A Woori Bank official stated, "Through this restructuring, we have reorganized our organization to be customer-centric and plan to provide systematic and practical support to SMEs and small business owners." The official added, "We will continue to further grow our strength in corporate finance and secure sustainable future competitiveness based on digital and AI technologies."
