The Integrated Defense Council is held every quarter to establish an organic cooperation system and integrated defense posture among the civilian, government, military, police, and fire departments, in preparation for regional crises and local provocations.
At this meeting, participants focused on discussing ways to strengthen the integrated response system to prepare for unpredictable military threats, even though North Korea's recent provocative actions have temporarily entered a lull.
In particular, Dongducheon City, considering its unique characteristics as a border area, continues to maintain its regional defense posture through close cooperation with relevant organizations, and is working to strengthen practical and systematic response capabilities to protect the lives and property of its citizens.
Mayor Hyungdeok Park stated, "Our peace and safety are precious values that everyone must protect together," and added, "We are making thorough preparations so that we can respond quickly and effectively to crisis situations through regular inspections and simulation drills."
Meanwhile, the meeting also served as an occasion to commemorate the sacrifice of fallen patriots and national heroes on the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. The attending committee members agreed to strengthen cooperation and their roles to ensure the safety of citizens.
