This Year's Scholarships Increased by 30 Million Won Compared to Last Year

The Hongseong Sarang Scholarship Foundation, chaired by Lee Yongrok, announced on June 27 that it held the "2025 Scholarship Certificate Ceremony" on June 26 at the main auditorium of Hongseong County Office in Chungcheongnam-do, where it awarded a total of 380 million won in scholarships to 306 local elementary, middle, high school, and university students.
The scholarships were distributed to 51 elementary school students, 80 middle school students, 56 high school students, and 119 university students. Each student received between 500,000 won and up to 3 million won.
This year’s scholarship recipients included students with outstanding academic achievements, children from families with multiple children, children from low-income families, and awardees in the arts and sports fields.
Notably, the total amount of scholarships awarded this year increased by approximately 30 million won compared to last year. The foundation plans to continue expanding its scholarship fund to benefit even more students in the future.
Meanwhile, since its establishment in 2005, the Hongseong Sarang Scholarship Foundation has raised a scholarship fund totaling 14.9 billion won through donations from local businesses, residents, and people originally from the area. Up to this year, the foundation has contributed to nurturing local talent by awarding approximately 4.3 billion won in scholarships to over 3,800 students.
