Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for teams to participate in the citizen cooperation contest "If I Were the Mayor!" until July 18.
This contest, which aims to spread a culture of collaborative governance where citizens directly propose policies and participate in city administration, is one of the city's flagship citizen participation policy proposal programs. It serves as a "cooperation platform" where citizens directly design and pilot policies to solve local community issues, working together with the administration to find solutions.
This year, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Pyeongtaek City's unification, the city is recruiting policy ideas under the slogan "30 Years Together, Building Pyeongtaek for All with Citizens" in four areas: environment, safety, youth and welfare, and culture.
The city plans to select finalist teams through an audition process, and then hold a final presentation contest after policy development workshops, field research, and expert consulting.
Any Pyeongtaek citizen, or anyone who works, studies, or is a young adult in Pyeongtaek, who is interested in policy development in these fields, may form a team of three or more members to participate. For more details, visit the notices section on the Pyeongtaek City website or contact the City Governance Cooperation Team in the Department of Autonomous Administration and Cooperation.
