Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Second-Generation Appointed as Subsidiary CEO

Jeong Jeong, the eldest daughter of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Chairman Chung Mongyoon, has been appointed as the new CEO of Hyundai Haim Asset Management.

According to Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance on June 27, Hyundai Haim Asset Management appointed Vice CEO Jeong Jeong as its new CEO in order to strengthen its position as a real estate-focused asset management firm through diversification of its investment portfolio.

The new CEO Jeong, who is the eldest daughter of Chairman Chung Mongyoon, previously served as a director at MGRV, a startup specializing in real estate development, where she built expertise in the domestic housing market and real estate planning. Since April last year, she has served as Vice CEO of Hyundai Haim Asset Management, a firm specializing in alternative investments. She has responded to high-growth potential markets driven by changing residential trends, such as senior housing and rental housing.

Recently, she established a project worth a total of 75.6 billion won by purchasing and remodeling buildings in Doksan-dong and Jeonnong-dong to invest in rental businesses targeting the general public. Hines, a global asset management company based in the United States, participated as a partner in this project, earning the trust of both domestic and international investors.

CEO Jeong stated, "Residential culture is changing rapidly due to structural changes in society, such as population aging and the increase in single-person households," and added, "Hyundai Haim Asset Management will pioneer new markets and move forward as a leading real estate-focused asset management company based on our extensive experience and accumulated expertise."
