Korea Development Bank Launches Fund to Strengthen National AI Competitiveness

'2025 AI Korea Fund'
Korea Development Bank Invests 150 Billion Won as Seed Capital
Total Fund Size Reaches 500 Billion Won

The Korea Development Bank announced on the 27th that it will be inviting applications for the '2025 AI Korea Fund' investment program. This investment initiative is the second-year project of the fund, which is being established with a total size of 1.5 trillion won by next year. With a 150 billion won investment from the Korea Development Bank serving as seed capital, a total fund of 500 billion won will be created, including 200 billion won for the mid-sized sector and 300 billion won for the small-sized sector. In the first year of the project last year, a fund of 500 billion won was successfully established.

The Korea Development Bank plans to proactively provide venture capital across the entire AI value chain, including AI models, infrastructure, and application services, through the establishment of the 'AI Korea Fund.' In particular, for this second-year project, the scope and targets of support have been expanded, including AI transformation (AIX), in consideration of the spread of AI technology across various industries. Proposals will be accepted until July 25, and the final selection of fund managers will be made in August through a screening process.

The Korea Development Bank stated, "We will continue to do our utmost to serve as a key investor in areas of high national importance, in line with government policy directions, so as to further vitalize private investment."
