Busan Office of Education Launches 'Strong Joints Stretching Education' Program for Workers

Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders
and Improvement of Work Efficiency

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on June 27 that it will operate the "Strong Joints Stretching Education" program a total of six times until July 15, aiming to enhance the self-directed health management abilities of workers engaged in field operations.

This program will be conducted at six locations, including the main office and five district offices of education such as the Northern District Office of Education, with approximately 150 local field workers expected to participate. Designed to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and improve work efficiency, the program consists of hands-on, customized stretching education and is expected to deliver tangible health benefits.

The sessions will last 90 minutes and will be led by a professional instructor and an assistant instructor, who will guide participants through practical exercises. The program begins with a muscle health assessment, followed by targeted stretching exercises using bodyweight and bands for different muscle groups. Participants will compare the state of muscle relaxation before and after the exercises to directly experience the effects of stretching.

To help workers incorporate stretching into their daily routines after completing the program, the Office of Education also plans to provide health support items such as elastic bands, wrist supports, and taping tape.

Kim Seokjun, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "This program will greatly help workers protect their own health and prevent diseases," adding, "We will continue to expand systematic, customized programs for the health and welfare of workers in the future."
