Ranked First for Two Consecutive Years in J.D. Power's New Car Quality Study in the U.S.
Hyundai Motor Group has been selected as the only Korean company among the world's 100 most influential global companies by the American weekly news magazine Time.
Hyundai Motor Group was named in the "Leaders" category of Time's "100 Most Influential Companies in the World," announced on June 26 (local time). Among Korean companies, Hyundai Motor Group is the only one to make the list.
Since 2021, Time has selected 100 companies with the highest scores based on their influence, innovation, and performance, using relevant data and expert opinions. The list consists of 20 companies each in the categories of Leaders, Disruptors, Innovators, Titans, and Pioneers.
Hyundai Motor Group stands alongside companies such as French energy company Engie, asset management firm BlackRock, and pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences. Time also gave Hyundai Motor Group the nickname "Automotive dark horse."
While Kia, an automotive affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, was included in this list in 2023, this is the first time the entire group has been named. In previous years, Korean companies selected include Samsung and HYBE in 2021, HYBE and The Pinkfong Company in 2022, Samsung, SK, Kia, and Blind in 2023, and Hanwha Group in 2024.
Hyundai Motor Group was recognized as a representative company in the Leaders category for its investment in future mobility solutions, such as rapid electrification. Time stated, "Hyundai Motor Group, the world's third-largest automotive group, continues to prove that its rise to the top is no accident," adding, "Although it once had a poor reputation in the United States, sales have surged as Hyundai and Kia have swept various awards with new hybrid and electric vehicles."
Time further noted, "In March, Hyundai Motor Group announced plans to invest $21 billion in the United States by 2028, more than double the total investment made in the U.S. over the past 40 years," and added, "Hyundai Motor Group's roots in the U.S. continue to deepen."
