Gyeonggi-do Appoints 100 Good Partners for Disabled Opportunity Income Program

Gyeonggi-do has appointed 100 Good Partners for the Disabled Opportunity Income program.

On June 26, Gyeonggi-do announced that it held the 'Disabled Opportunity Income Good Partner Launch Ceremony' at Dasan Hall in the provincial government building and selected 100 residents, including an individual referred to as A, who have actively participated in the Disabled Opportunity Income program and contributed to positive change, as Good Partners.

Good Partners are participants in the Disabled Opportunity Income program who have experienced changes in their daily lives and work to spread positive influence within their communities based on those experiences.

The 100 individuals appointed this time were selected through an open recruitment process. Going forward, they will continue activities such as posting encouraging messages on the Disabled Opportunity Income app communication plaza, introducing good places to exercise in their neighborhoods, and sharing their daily lives.

The Disabled Opportunity Income program is a flagship welfare policy of Gyeonggi-do for people with disabilities, which provides a monthly payment of 100,000 won to those who certify their health and social activities using a smartwatch.

Since its launch in 2023, the program has attracted a total of approximately 27,000 participants. Notably, by promoting positive changes in physical activity, the program achieved a participant satisfaction rate of 86.7% last year.

Kim Hana, Director of Welfare at Gyeonggi-do, stated, "Good Partners are not just beneficiaries, but also leaders and companions driving change in the community," adding, "Gyeonggi-do will continue to actively support more residents in leading healthy and meaningful lives through the Opportunity Income program."
