Kwon Kiyun, Chairman of Andong City Council Culture and Welfare Committee, Receives Top Legislative Contribution Award in Uijeongbu Sector at '2025 Korea Loyalty and Filial Piety Awards'

Kwon Kiyun, chairman of the Culture and Welfare Committee of the Andong City Council, was recognized for his contributions to supporting national merit recipients and veterans organizations, and received the Excellence in Legislative Contribution Award for Support of Veterans Organizations in the Uijeongbu Sector at the '2025 Korea Society Shining Republic of Korea Loyalty and Filial Piety Awards'.

The award ceremony was held on June 19 at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall Convention Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event was hosted by the Korea Loyalty and Filial Piety Awards Organizing Committee and co-organized by the Korea Newspaper Reporters Association and the Journalists' Alliance Council.


The 'Korea Loyalty and Filial Piety Awards' is a prestigious honor presented to individuals who have demonstrated a firm sense of national identity and a strong sense of duty, dedicating themselves to national development and social contribution in various fields such as politics, economy, society, and culture.


As chairman of the Culture and Welfare Committee in the latter half of the 9th Andong City Council, Kwon Kiyun has taken the lead in strengthening respect for national merit recipients and improving veterans policies.


In particular, he was highly praised for leading the enactment of the 'Andong City Ordinance on Support for Independence Movement Commemoration Projects' and for establishing a close cooperation system with local veterans organizations, thereby contributing to the spread of veterans culture.


This award is considered an exemplary case of actively implementing veterans policies at the local council level, and is seen as a reflection of Chairman Kwon's dedicated attitude toward the community and the nation.


In his acceptance speech, Chairman Kwon said, "I am honored to receive such a significant award for my quiet dedication to legislative activities for the local community," and added, "I will continue to do my best to improve the quality of life for citizens and to honor national merit recipients."


Meanwhile, Chairman Kwon is also making continuous efforts to discover and enact ordinances aimed at protecting the socially disadvantaged and improving welfare in the region through various legislative activities in the welfare sector.
