Monthly Purchase Limit Raised to 700,000 Won per Person
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province will increase the issuance amount of the Jeongeup Sarang Gift Certificate from the previous 80 billion won to 100 billion won.
According to the city on June 26, this decision is aimed at achieving three goals simultaneously: stimulating local consumption, revitalizing neighborhood businesses, and expanding tangible benefits for citizens.
The issuance amount of 100 billion won is the largest since the introduction of the Jeongeup Sarang Gift Certificate system. Through this, the city aims to inject vitality into small business owners struggling amid the economic downturn and provide citizens with substantial discount benefits, thereby further strengthening the virtuous cycle of local consumption.
In particular, starting next month, the sales policy will be significantly revamped. The monthly purchase limit per person will be raised from 500,000 won to 700,000 won, and the previously enforced annual purchase limit will be abolished. As a result, citizens will be able to purchase larger amounts with discount benefits when needed, greatly enhancing the effectiveness and utility of the gift certificate.
The city will also increase the monthly issuance scale by 4 billion won, from 6 billion won to 10 billion won, to ensure that funds flow into the local commercial district more quickly. This is expected to provide practical support to small business owners who are struggling to recover sales amid the prolonged economic downturn.
The Jeongeup Sarang Gift Certificate is available for purchase from 8 a.m. on the first day of every month. Mobile gift certificates can be purchased and recharged through the 'Local Gift Certificate chak' app, while card-type certificates can be issued and recharged at Nonghyup, Jeonbuk Bank, Saemaeul Geumgo, and Shinhyup, among others.
Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "The Jeongeup Sarang Gift Certificate provides real benefits that ease the financial burden for citizens and offers small business owners an opportunity to recover sales." He added, "Through this policy revision, we will inject definite vitality into the local economy and create changes that all citizens can truly feel."
