Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority to Survey Resident Companies Through August

Over 60 Items to Be Surveyed on Employment, Management, Investment, and Challenges

The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sungho) will conduct the '2024 Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Business Survey' through August. The authority aims to precisely assess the employment and investment status of resident companies and reflect the findings in policy development and business support.

This survey is overseen by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and surveyors will visit business sites in person to complete the questionnaire through interviews. The subjects of the survey are domestic companies with five or more employees and foreign-invested companies with at least one employee, all of which must have business premises within the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone as of December 31, 2024.

The survey covers more than 60 items, including general business information, employment, management activities, investment, residency status, and difficulties faced by companies. The results are scheduled to be published on the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority's website in November next year.

According to last year's survey, a total of 2,266 companies were located in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, employing 62,645 people. The annual production value was calculated at 28.3669 trillion won, and the investment amount was 645.3 billion won. Notably, the number of companies in core strategic industries reached 481, a 31% increase from the previous year, making it the highest among the nine free economic zones nationwide.

Commissioner Park Sungho stated, "Accurately understanding the status of resident companies forms the foundation for effective administrative support and investment attraction policies," and added, "We ask for active participation from companies to ensure the collection of accurate statistics."
