Suspect A is accused of establishing and operating multiple online gambling sites worth approximately 16 billion KRW together with six accomplices since 2015. After nearly 10 years on the run, A was apprehended in March of this year through cooperation between the Korean Desk dispatched locally and investigators from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration.

Suspect B is accused of embezzling approximately 1.1 billion KRW by falsifying loan-related documents while working as a loan manager at a domestic commercial bank around 2007. In September of last year, B was discovered to be subject to an Interpol Red Notice when visiting the Philippine Bureau of Immigration to obtain administrative documents.

An official from the National Police Agency stated, "This repatriation is an exemplary case achieved through the joint efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, and the Korean Desk," and added, "We will continue to mobilize our domestic and international cooperation capabilities to the fullest, with the aim of realizing a just society safe from crime and establishing international public order."
