A Total of 826 Award-Winning Works on Display Throughout the Seongsan Art Hall Exhibition Wing
Exhibition Runs Until the 30th
The opening and awards ceremony for the 38th National Seongsan Art Exhibition, co-hosted by the Changwon branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association and the Changwon Cultural Foundation and sponsored by Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, was held at Seongsan Art Hall on June 25.
The Seongsan Art Exhibition is a representative art event in Changwon, held annually to inspire the creative passion of local artists and to discover promising emerging talents. This year, a total of 1,548 works were submitted across various genres, including Korean painting, Minhwa, Western painting, and watercolor.
Through a rigorous screening process, 3 grand prizes, 6 top excellence awards, 18 excellence awards, 5 special awards, 232 selected awards, and 562 honorable mentions were chosen as winners in each category. In total, 826 award-winning works will be exhibited throughout Seongsan Art Hall until June 30.
At the awards ceremony, the grand prizes were awarded to the following works: Minhwa "Rest in Memory," Chinese Calligraphy "Jeungseung (Yeso)," and Calligraphy "Old Tree 1." Changwon Special City’s Second Vice Mayor Cho Myeongrae attended the event in person and presented the grand prizes to the winners.
This exhibition, which opened alongside the awards ceremony, offers visitors the opportunity to appreciate a diverse range of works centered on the award-winning pieces, providing citizens with a chance to experience artistic inspiration and creativity.
Second Vice Mayor Cho Myeongrae stated, "I hope this exhibition allows citizens to naturally encounter art in their daily lives and to find inspiration and relaxation through works from various genres. Changwon City will continue to support a variety of cultural and artistic events so that citizens can easily access and enjoy culture in the future."
