This Resident Participation Budget School was organized to enhance citizens' understanding of the resident participation budget system and to encourage their direct involvement. It was held twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, to allow participation from a diverse range of citizens.

The training introduced an overview of the resident participation budget system, the procedure for submitting project proposals, and best practice cases. Afterwards, citizens engaged in small group activities, discussing local issues and conducting practical exercises to develop actual project proposals.

A Pocheon City official stated, "Reflecting citizens' opinions in the budget formulation process is an important step in enhancing transparency and fairness in municipal administration," adding, "We will continue to pursue open governance together with our citizens."

Meanwhile, the city is accepting applications for the "2025 Resident Participation Budget Contest Projects" until July 15. The contest categories include improving residents' welfare, attracting population and creating jobs, living social overhead capital (SOC), and disaster and crime prevention. Proposed projects will be reviewed and reflected in the 2026 main budget.
