The "Gapyeong County MZ Panel Group" is a policy club consisting of 25 public officials from the MZ generation, born between the early 1980s and the early 2000s. It has been operated since 2023 to infuse the administration with the generation's unique creativity and sensibility. This third panel group identified and explored the feasibility of policy tasks for each of five divisions, aiming to bring fresh perspectives to county administration.
The five policy tasks presented at the event were: the creation of a wedding studio utilizing closed schools; the introduction of a shared bicycle system in Gapyeong County; the establishment of a Music Station 1939 landmark for companion animals; the practice of carbon neutrality through food waste reduction; and the operation of Jaraseom Water Light Theater & Floating Market.
The event included presentations on each task, and outstanding projects were awarded based on evaluations by a panel of judges. The judging panel, which included Deputy Governor Kim Miseong, senior officials, and 15 external experts, thoroughly reviewed the potential for policy implementation to enhance effectiveness. As a result, the top prize was awarded to "Practicing Carbon Neutrality Through Food Waste Reduction," while the excellence award went to "Jaraseom Water Light Theater & Floating Market."
Deputy Governor Kim Miseong stated, "We will spare no effort in providing full support so that the ideas proactively proposed by young public officials do not remain mere suggestions but are actually implemented as policies." She added, "We will continue to expand communication channels to ensure that the voices of the MZ generation are reflected throughout the administration."
