On June 26, the domestic stock market is showing weakness in early trading, remaining near the flatline.
As of 9:30 a.m. on this day, the KOSPI is trading at 3,096.73, down 11.52 points (0.37%) from the previous session. The index initially opened at 3,108.34, up 0.09 points (0.0%) from the previous close, but soon turned negative. While individual investors made net purchases of 227.8 billion won, foreign investors and institutions sold off 128 billion won and 112.7 billion won worth of shares, respectively.
Among large-cap stocks, performance is mixed. SK Hynix, which surged to 300,000 won on the alternative trading platform, is up 3.32%, followed by Hanwha Aerospace (2.92%), Samsung Biologics (0.20%), and Shinhan Financial Group (0.17%) also posting gains. In contrast, NAVER (-5.11%), Kakao (-4.90%), Hyundai Motor (-2.53%), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-1.26%) are declining.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ is trading at 793.78, down 4.43 points (0.55%). The index started the session at 799.21, up 1.0 point (0.13%) from the previous close, but soon turned weak. Individual investors alone purchased 116.9 billion won, while foreign investors and institutions recorded net sales of 101.9 billion won and 15.6 billion won, respectively.
Among KOSDAQ large-cap stocks, selling pressure is dominant. Peptron (0.49%), Ecopro BM (0.38%), and PharmaResearch (0.21%) are slightly higher, while Samchundang Pharm (-3.19%), Kolon TissueGene (-3.17%), HLB (-2.92%), Rainbow Robotics (-1.85%), Hugel (-1.19%), and LinoKorea Electronics (-1.16%) are all declining.
Kakao Pay, classified as a won-based stablecoin-related stock, has been designated as an investment risk stock due to its recent sharp price surge, and trading will be suspended for the day.
By sector, defense (1.37%), chemicals (0.93%), electronic equipment (0.80%), telecommunications equipment (0.73%), and electrical products (0.60%) are strong. Software (-4.42%), utilities (-2.66%), securities (-2.54%), construction (-2.44%), conglomerates (-1.98%), toys (-1.91%), and automobiles (-1.84%) are weak.
