BBQ Joins Baemin's "Hangureut" Category
Single-Portion Chicken Sets Now Available in Seoul
Up to 20% Discount and Delivery Fee Support Until End of July
Chicken franchise BBQ is joining Baemin's "Hangureut" category, which specializes in single-serving portions. With chicken, a staple delivery food, now available through Hangureut, customer convenience for ordering single-portion meals is expected to improve significantly.
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, announced that BBQ will begin selling single servings of popular menu items such as Golden Olive Chicken through the Hangureut category starting on June 27.
As a result, from this day, customers will be able to order set menus such as BBQ's "Mini Combo Set" and "Golden Olive Half Chicken Set" as single portions through Hangureut, with discounts of up to 20% off the regular price. To further enhance customer benefits, Baemin will subsidize part of the delivery fees and menu discounts.
BBQ's Hangureut sales will be available in the Seoul area until the end of July. Afterward, the companies plan to discuss expanding to more regions and extending the sales period, depending on service activation and demand.
Launched as a pilot program at the end of April, Hangureut is a service specialized for customers who need small-portion delivery meals. As demand for smaller orders has increased, driven by the rise of single-person households, the service eliminated minimum order amounts and significantly simplified menu browsing and the ordering process.
Since this month, the Hangureut category has expanded its service area to major regions nationwide, including the greater Seoul area, and order volume has been rapidly increasing. In the third week of June, the number of Hangureut orders was more than ten times higher than in the first week of May, and the number of users also grew by more than eleven times during the same period, indicating strong customer response.
A Baemin representative stated, "Although chicken is a representative national delivery food, single-portion orders have not been active due to the nature of the raw ingredients. With BBQ joining Hangureut, we are ushering in a true 'single-portion chicken era.' We will continue to enhance convenience for customers who want to place small orders."
