More Than 1,000 Employees and Partner Firm Staff Targeted
Over 30 Sessions to Be Held Annually
Sungshin Cement, a company specializing in cement, announced on June 26 that it has completed the construction of a state-of-the-art "Safety Experience Center" at its Danyang plant in North Chungcheong Province and will begin operating safety experience training programs.
The establishment of this Safety Experience Center was planned with the goal of ensuring the effective implementation of mandatory legal training required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, as well as preventing serious accidents by raising safety awareness among field workers. The Safety Experience Center covers a total area of 586 square meters (approximately 177 pyeong) and consists of two theory classrooms and four experience zones equipped with more than 10 types of experiential content.
Sungshin Cement plans to provide customized, experience-based safety training at this center, including confined space evacuation drills, work at heights, electrical safety, and energy isolation procedures, all based on real accident scenarios. In addition, immersive content utilizing virtual reality (VR) technology will be introduced, allowing trainees to realistically experience hazardous and risky situations and learn safety rules.
The Safety Experience Center is expected to operate more than 30 sessions annually for approximately 1,000 employees from both the company and its partner firms. A variety of programs will be offered throughout the year, including regular pre-work training, training for new employees and supervisors, special training when work tasks change, and emergency response drills. All training courses will be systematically operated in cooperation with in-house instructors and safety specialists. Trainees will complete the program by rotating through all booths in teams for more than two hours.
A Sungshin Cement representative stated, "Through the operation of the Safety Experience Center, we aim to prevent accidents in advance by enabling employees and partner company members to experience real accident situations beforehand and acquire safe work procedures." The representative added, "By systematically educating on recurring accident factors in industrial sites, we expect to achieve both a reduction in accident rates and an improvement in work efficiency."
