KCCP and KEPCO KDN Sign Business Agreement for 2025 ESG Support Program for Partner Companies

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to continue joint efforts to embed ESG management practices and strengthen the capabilities for sustainable management among small and medium-sized partner companies.

KEPCO KDN, which became the first public institution to participate in this program in 2021, is now entering its fifth consecutive year of partnership, taking a leading role in expanding ESG practices. In particular, this year, the company plans to offer customized ESG solutions to industry-specific partner companies, including AI-focused SMEs, to help each company set and implement ESG goals that fit their actual circumstances.

Under the agreement, KEPCO KDN will contribute to the mutual growth cooperation fund and, together with the KCCP, develop customized ESG evaluation indicators for partner companies based on the standard ESG guidelines for SMEs. Subsequently, a comprehensive support program will be operated for selected partner companies, including tailored ESG training, on-site inspections (consulting), and improvement activities. Partner companies that demonstrate outstanding results will be awarded an "ESG Excellent SME" certificate issued by the KCCP.

Over the past four years, KEPCO KDN has systematically supported a total of 69 partner companies through ESG training, assessments, and improvement activities. As a result, the average compliance rate with ESG indicators rose from 39.6% to 82.9%, marking significant improvements. Notably, 51 partner companies have obtained the "ESG Excellent SME" certificate, and their capabilities to respond to global supply chain ESG due diligence have also been evaluated as having improved.

Chairman Lee Dalgon stated, "KEPCO KDN's participation for five consecutive years is a symbolic example that goes beyond mere involvement, demonstrating the responsibility and leadership of public institutions in practicing ESG. We expect that this agreement will help establish a strong ESG culture among partner SMEs and contribute to the spread of sustainable management throughout the entire supply chain."
