On June 25, Yonsei University College of Medicine signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering at KAIST at Baekyangro Plaza, Yonsei University, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to establish a cooperative foundation for future-oriented medical science research and talent cultivation.

As the convergence of medicine and science and technology becomes increasingly important, Yonsei University College of Medicine plans to formalize a partnership that combines its strengths in clinical and basic medical fields with the convergence research capabilities of the KAIST Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering, aiming to create synergy.
Through this agreement, the two institutions will promote mutual exchange of research personnel and information, joint convergence research projects, shared use of educational and research infrastructure, and cooperation to expand their global research networks. By doing so, they aim to go beyond simple academic exchange and jointly foster convergence-type talent and build a sustainable research ecosystem.
Jae Young Choi, Dean of Yonsei University College of Medicine, stated, "This agreement will serve as an important foundation for building a leading research and education system in the field of medical science by combining the unique strengths of both institutions," adding, "I look forward to both institutions actively sharing their accumulated experience and resources to open up new possibilities in medical science together."
Soo Hyung Park, Head of the Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering at KAIST, said, "Collaboration with Yonsei University College of Medicine marks a very meaningful starting point for the convergence research and talent cultivation that KAIST Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering pursues," and added, "As we move toward our shared goals, we will work together to enhance the global competitiveness of Korea's medical science sector."
