Integrating Drama and Movie IP Content into Food Service
Events Serving an Average of 50,000 Meals Daily
On June 26, CJ Freshway announced that it will integrate IP content such as dramas and movies into its food service operations, providing a comprehensive content experience throughout the dining process.
Starting in July, CJ Freshway plans to hold a series of weekly themed events at approximately 40 cafeterias nationwide to celebrate the broadcast of tvN’s new weekend drama "Seocho-dong." The events, which will serve an average of about 50,000 meals per day, will feature six themed menus inspired by the main characters and company dinner scenarios from the drama. In some locations, special drinks reflecting the personalities of the characters will be available at in-house cafes, and a variety of on-site activities, such as giveaways of posters signed by the cast, will be offered to enhance engagement with the content.
Since the second half of last year, CJ Freshway has been incorporating a variety of IP content?including movies, dramas, variety shows, and idol collaborations?into its food service marketing. Last month, the company held a collaborative event with the movie "Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning."
To date, content-based special menus have been offered at around 100 locations, with a cumulative total of approximately 120,000 guests served. During event periods, the number of meals served per day increased by up to 30% compared to the daily average, demonstrating tangible results.
Moving forward, CJ Freshway plans to continue collaborating with not only trendy content but also with star chefs and Michelin-listed restaurants, aiming to lead a differentiated food service culture.
A CJ Freshway representative stated, "Since last year, we have been the first in the industry to plan IP collaboration activities, continuously pursuing a variety of content events and partnership projects. As food service is more than just a meal and also provides a moment of relaxation, we will continue to focus on expanding the customer experience based on our differentiated service capabilities."
