Daewoong Pharmaceutical's 'thynC' AI Voice Integrated into EMR

Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Seers Technology, and Puzzle AI
Sign Three-Party Agreement
to Develop Next-Generation Smart Hospital Solution

On June 26, Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced that it will introduce a next-generation smart hospital solution powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

On the previous day (June 25), Daewoong Pharmaceutical signed a three-party memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seers Technology and Puzzle AI at its headquarters in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to jointly develop and expand a smart hospital solution based on generative AI.

The purpose of this agreement is to implement advanced digital healthcare technologies such as voice recognition for medical consultations, AI-based automation of medical records, and patient status monitoring throughout hospitals. This aims to enhance operational efficiency in clinical settings and create a patient-centered smart medical environment.

Through this agreement, smart technologies such as voice-based record automation and integrated management of patient data will be actively introduced into clinical practice. As a result, the entry, management, and storage of vast and complex medical data are expected to become much easier. Medical staff will be able to focus more on patient care, freed from repetitive and administrative tasks.

Communication between medical staff and patients is also expected to evolve to become more precise and multidimensional, improving not only the quality of care but also patient satisfaction. This goes beyond simple operational efficiency and marks a turning point where digital technology can make a real contribution to realizing precision medicine centered on the patient by allowing healthcare professionals to focus on their patients.

Under the agreement, Puzzle AI will provide its voice recognition-based medical record automation solution, GenNote, and will use generative AI technology to implement a medical record system optimized for various healthcare environments, including wards, outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and intensive care units. Seers Technology will develop technology to link its smart bed monitoring system, thynC, with GenNote, and will work to further advance the solution through clinical and demonstration projects. Daewoong Pharmaceutical will be responsible for promoting and expanding the solution to hospitals and medical institutions.

GenNote is an integrated solution that recognizes what medical staff say in real time, and can summarize, record, and link to EMR (electronic medical records). In particular, it applies proprietary microphone technology that recognizes only the specific medical professional's voice, enabling accurate voice recording even in noisy hospital environments. Its technological capabilities have been proven through use in more than 170 hospitals in Korea, including Seoul Asan Medical Center.

The three companies plan to further collaborate to expand the solution to hospitals, advance clinical care through integration with smart bed systems, and build a personalized medical environment based on patient data, thereby contributing to the creation of a future-oriented digital healthcare ecosystem.

Changjae Lee, CEO of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated, "Digital healthcare is a core area that Daewoong Pharmaceutical is focusing on as a future growth engine. This collaboration is an important starting point to lead innovation in the domestic smart hospital market with capable partners, and ultimately, we will focus on building a competitive digital healthcare ecosystem that can expand into the global market."
