"Jeonnam Classrooms" Powered by AI: A Future Created by Teachers and Students

Provincial Office of Education Hosts "2030 Lesson Study Group" Workshop
Exploring Future-Oriented Lesson Models and Sharing Innovative Teaching Practices

On June 25, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held the "2025 Secondary 2030 Lesson Study Workshop" at Boseong Davichi Condo, exploring new possibilities for future-oriented lesson models.

The workshop was attended by 322 participants, including 50 teacher teams from the 2030 Lesson Study Group in the province and lesson consultants. A variety of teacher-centered programs were offered, such as lesson case presentations, consulting sessions for lesson leader teachers, and inter-group conferences among research groups.

Teachers also shared vivid lesson cases they had implemented in the classroom. Yedang High School showcased discussion-based lessons and report-writing activities utilizing AI. Naju Geumcheon Middle School presented a convergence lesson that combined literary analysis, SNS communication, and ecological video production. Naman High School drew attention with student-led value exploration lessons, while Suncheon Future Science High School operated a Minerva-style discussion lesson on the topic of climate change.

In particular, the "2030 Lesson Study Group" has established itself not just as a research group, but as a platform for Jeonnam-style educational innovation where teachers and students create lessons together. The "Sound Future Research Group" at Mokpo Hangdo Girls' Middle School experimented with project-based lessons integrating music, digital technology, and global citizenship education. Students composed melodies using AI composition programs and produced matching music videos themselves, developing both sensitivity and digital literacy.

The "Maeseong Edu Bridge Research Group" at Maeseong High School conducted a project-based lesson on the theme of "Mars Exploration," integrating English, mathematics, science, and AI. Through AI-based English conversation and scientific inquiry activities, students expanded their imagination and digital thinking skills.

The "Future Creative Science Research Group" at Suncheon Maesan Girls' High School operated lessons where students measured the local environment using sensors and analyzed data to find solutions. The "2030 AI Classroom Research Group" at Yongjeong Middle School enhanced creativity and expressive skills through activities such as creating poetry and picture books using generative AI.

Park Cheolwan, Director of Secondary Education, stated, "This workshop is an opportunity to practically design the direction of future education with lesson study groups at the center," adding, "I hope that teachers' sharing of lessons will inject new vitality into school sites and play an important role in concretizing the direction of Jeonnam-style future education."

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has selected a total of 134 "2030 Classrooms" this year, including 51 for early childhood, 43 for elementary, and 40 for secondary education in the province, and is actively working to create and utilize future-oriented learning spaces.
