The ceremony began with a memorial video related to the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong, followed by the national ceremony, commendations for meritorious persons, commemorative and retrospective speeches, a group singing of the Korean War Song, and three cheers for the nation.
At the venue, there were booths where participants could experience wartime food and a photo exhibition on the Korean War, which attracted many visitors. The Uiseong County chapter of the Korea Freedom Federation managed the exhibitions, adding further significance to the event.
In particular, during the second part of the event, the Navy band gave a special performance in collaboration with the Victory Commemoration Association of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong. The band presented a variety of programs, including military songs, popular music, and a magic performance, creating a space for communication and empathy across generations.
On this day, Kim Hae-su, President of the Uiseong County Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association, emphasized, "The memories of the horrific war became the foundation for the freedom and peace we enjoy today," and added, "Everyone must work to strengthen national security to ensure that the tragedy of war is never repeated on this land."
In his commemorative speech, Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, stated, "The Korean War is not simply an event of the past, but a historical lesson that reminds us of the values of freedom and peace we must protect today, as well as the importance of solidarity." He continued, "We must continue to strengthen national and regional security, and maintain cooperation and solidarity to overcome crises."
