On June 25, Hampyeong County in South Jeolla Province announced plans to build a "Youth Culture Center" to revitalize the Bitgreen National Industrial Complex and improve the welfare of young workers.

The county was recently selected as a final recipient in the "2025 Industrial Complex Environment Creation Project" hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, securing 6 billion won in national funding. With a total budget of 11.4 billion won, the Youth Culture Center is scheduled to be constructed by 2028.

The Bitgreen National Industrial Complex is being developed across approximately 1.23 million pyeong in Wolyamyeon, Hampyeong and Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. The first phase has been completed, and automotive parts-related companies, including Gwangju Global Motors (GGM), have already moved in.

The second phase, located in the Hampyeong area, is scheduled for completion in December of this year, with final infrastructure work currently underway. In response, the county plans to build the Youth Culture Center to improve the residential environment for young workers, attract more young people, and boost local vitality.

The Youth Culture Center will be developed as a multi-purpose cultural facility offering convenience, cultural, and sports amenities for both workers in the industrial complex and local residents. It will provide rest areas, a variety of cultural programs, and community spaces.

County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "The Youth Culture Center will not only improve the quality of life for workers and local residents, but also significantly contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial complex and attracting young people. We will ensure that the Bitgreen National Industrial Complex evolves beyond a simple industrial base to become a hub of innovation that coexists with the local community."
