Semiconductor design company Genitics has declared its ambition to become a "global fabless company" by adopting new growth engines such as highly profitable TDDI (Touch Display Driver Integration) and Physical AI.
Focusing on TDDI and on-device AI sensing technology, Genitics aims to achieve annual sales of 200 billion KRW within five years. The company plans to strengthen its market position by diversifying its domestic and international customer base and internalizing core technologies. Genitics is one of Korea's leading fabless companies, having developed touch SoCs (System on Chip) for the mobile and wearable sectors.
In particular, Genitics counts global clients such as Samsung Electronics among its customers and is commercializing TDDI technology developed through national research projects. In addition, in the power IC sector, Genitics is leading a consortium selected for a national project to develop next-generation GaN (gallium nitride) drivers, further diversifying its main product lineup.
Genitics aims to achieve world-leading technological competitiveness, targeting the number one position globally in the touch sector and the number three position globally in the power sector.
Recently, Genitics has also begun commercializing on-device AI-based sensing modules and Physical AI technologies. To this end, the company is jointly developing a current sensor IC with a metal multi-layer thin-film structure in collaboration with a Sejong University startup. Genitics expects this technology to be widely applied across advanced industries such as renewable energy, robotics, and electric vehicles.
In the mid- to long-term, the company plans to focus its investments on mid- to large-sized touch and TDDI-based product lines.
Regarding mid- to large-sized touch, Genitics is pursuing a patent licensing agreement with touch technology specialist G2Touch and plans to collaborate technologically with domestic mid-sized system semiconductor companies. In addition to adopting new growth engines, the company will actively seek to recruit new development talent.
Through diversification of sales channels and main products, Genitics aims to achieve an operating margin of up to 40% by product category.
Genitics CEO Kwon Seokman stated, "Genitics aims to become a global leader in HMI (Human to Machine Interface) through technological innovation," adding, "We will build a company trusted by customers and shareholders, open to great technology and talented individuals."
