Aiming to Create a New Future Urban Image and a Citizen-Centered Pleasant Landscape
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on June 25 that it will hold a public hearing to gather citizen opinions on the '2030 Guri City Landscape Plan Revision (Draft)' at 2:00 p.m. on July 10 in the main auditorium on the first floor of City Hall.
The landscape plan revision is an implementation plan required by Articles 7 and 15 of the Landscape Act, which mandates a review and revision of the landscape plan every five years. This statutory plan provides a long-term assessment of Guri City's landscape status in accordance with higher-level plans and changing conditions, and establishes strategies for the conservation, management, and development of landscape resources.
This public hearing on the '2030 Guri City Landscape Plan Revision (Draft)' will focus on creating a new future urban image that can proactively respond to changes in Guri City's urban landscape, as well as establishing a citizen-centered, pleasant urban landscape that balances nature, history, culture, and the city.
Any interested citizen may attend the public hearing to listen to explanations of the landscape plan revision (draft) and expert discussions, and may also present their opinions. In addition, written opinions can be submitted to the Urban Planning Division of Guri City Hall from July 10 to July 16.
After the public hearing, the city plans to complete the establishment of the 2030 Landscape Plan by August 2025, following the collection of opinions from the Guri City Council and deliberation by the Guri City Landscape Committee.
Mayor Baek Kyunghyun of Guri City stated, "Through this public hearing, we will proactively respond to the rapidly changing urban environment caused by various development projects, and establish effective landscape guidelines and implementation plans that include sustainable landscape promotion strategies and management measures."
