This report was prepared in accordance with major international disclosure standards, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). Specifically, it includes detailed strategies for each ESG issue, such as climate change, sustainable technology development, safety and health, supply chain management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).

In the environmental sector, the company established new environmental management policies, including biodiversity protection and a ban on deforestation. Additionally, it developed an assessment system based on seven major impact categories, such as carbon footprint, to analyze the environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle of ships. In the social sector, Samsung Heavy Industries was selected as the "Best Institution" in three categories of the government’s Human Resources Development (HRD) support program by operating win-win programs to alleviate workforce shortages for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company also introduced a conflict minerals management policy in accordance with international ethical standards.

In terms of governance, all subcommittees under the board of directors were composed of outside directors. Samsung Heavy Industries became the first in the shipbuilding industry to obtain certification for the international risk management standard "ISO31000."

Choi Sung An, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Heavy Industries, stated, "Based on our technology and capabilities, we will establish new business models and realize comprehensive responsible management in areas such as human rights and the environment, striving to become a company that is sustainable for 100 years."
