Gochang County Selects Five Outstanding Proactive Public Officials

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province has selected employees who achieved tangible results in proactive administration that residents can directly experience as the "Outstanding Proactive Public Officials for the First Half of 2025."

According to the county on the 25th, five officials were ultimately selected as outstanding proactive public officials: Kim Taeho (Grand Prize, Agricultural Policy Division), Jung Dongsoo (Excellence, Social Welfare Division), Park Kyungtae (Excellence, Seongsong-myeon), Jung Dawoon (Encouragement, Construction Division), and Lim Haneul (Encouragement, New Vitality Economic Policy Office).

Officer Kim Taeho produced agricultural promotional news videos in-house and installed them on TVs in 409 village halls across the county, regularly broadcasting promotional materials to significantly improve residents' access to agricultural policies.

Officer Jung Dongsoo contributed to budget savings through proactive work by persistently negotiating with LH during the construction cost settlement process, ultimately reducing the requested amount by 391 million KRW.

Team Leader Park Kyungtae led negotiations with Daeseong Agricultural Cooperative, reducing the land purchase cost for the park golf course parking lot by 300 million KRW. Additionally, he improved access routes to enhance convenience for residents.

Officer Jung Dawoon was directly recommended by residents as an outstanding public official. By simultaneously processing various civil complaints during the registration of construction machinery rental businesses, he reduced the process time from a maximum of 17 days to just 2 days.

Officer Lim Haneul was recognized for implementing a 20% special discount policy for the Gochang Love Gift Certificate (10% pre-discount and an additional 10% cashback when using the Gochang Love Card), resulting in a 67% year-on-year increase in Gochang Love Card usage and establishing a virtuous cycle that invigorated the local economy.

The five outstanding proactive public officials will receive a citation from the county governor and incentives such as additional points in performance evaluations. In particular, the top official will be awarded the highest grade (S) in the performance bonus assessment.

County Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "We will continue to foster a resident-centered proactive administrative culture and expand proactive administration that residents can truly experience through flexible and creative work across all administrative sectors."
