Hyundai Receives First-Ever 'Five-Star Car' Honor
Advanced Stability Control Technology and Dynamic Driving Performance Praised

Hyundai Motor Company announced that its high-performance electric vehicle, the Ioniq 5 N, was selected in the "Five-Star Car" category at the "2025 Autocar Awards" hosted by the British automotive magazine "Autocar" on June 25 (local time).
The Five-Star Car award is given to vehicles that set a new benchmark in every aspect among those tested on the road. This marks the first time a Hyundai vehicle has been selected as a Five-Star Car.
The Ioniq 5 N received acclaim for its advanced vehicle stability control technology, dynamic driving performance, and immersive driving experience?characteristics rarely found in high-performance electric vehicles. Autocar described the Ioniq 5 N as a "game changer," praising it as "astonishingly fun and dynamically responsive in any situation."
In particular, the "N e-Shift" feature, which simulates the shifting and engine braking characteristics of internal combustion engine vehicles, was highly regarded for maximizing driver engagement.
Mark Tisshaw, editor-in-chief of Autocar, stated, "At a time when the automotive industry is undergoing dramatic change, the Ioniq 5 N stands as a game changer, delivering true driving pleasure in the era of electric vehicles," adding, "It fully deserves the highest evaluation."
The Ioniq 5 N is the first high-performance electric vehicle under the N brand, equipped with a combined maximum output of 478 kW and a peak torque of 770 Nm from its front and rear motors. It features an 84 kWh high-output battery and a high-performance EV-specific thermal management control system, among various dedicated technologies, delivering overwhelming driving performance.
The Ioniq 5 N was selected as the "World Performance Car of the Year" at the "2024 World Car Awards," and has also received the "Car of the Year" award at the UK's "2023 TopGear Awards," the "Best Electric Hot Hatch" at the "2024 TopGear Electric Awards," the "Performance Car of the Year" at the "2025 China Car of the Year," and the "Electric Utility Vehicle" award at the "2025 Canadian Car of the Year."
