President Song has held various positions, including Chief Operating Officer and Head of Kia Europe, contributing to Kia's successful transformation based on his extensive experience across the automotive industry and expertise in overseas business operations. Since being appointed as President of Kia in 2020, he has driven the company’s growth into a global leader in electrification and sustainable mobility solutions through the mid- to long-term "Plan S" strategy.

Mark Tisshaw, Editor-in-Chief of Autocar, stated, "I was deeply impressed by the way President Song has led Kia, the company’s continued growth, and the successes he has achieved. He has spearheaded excellent design and brand enhancement, and in the face of the major challenge of electrification, he has produced outstanding and appealing vehicles that are among the best in the industry."

President Song expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is a great honor to receive this award. I believe this achievement is not due to my efforts alone, but the result of the entire Kia team worldwide working together to enhance the brand’s value." He added, "Based on Kia’s future vision as a provider of sustainable mobility solutions, we will continue to challenge our limits and deliver experiences that inspire, offering products and services that go beyond customer satisfaction."

In addition, the Kia EV3 was named "Best Electric Car" at the 2025 Autocar Awards. The EV3 is a compact SUV electric vehicle capable of traveling up to approximately 605 kilometers on a single charge, and it was highly rated for its fast charging performance and reasonable price.

Autocar commented, "The EV3 stands out as the most impressive new electric car in its price range released this year. Not only has it brought the design appeal of the EV9 to the heart of the electric vehicle market, but it is also attractive in every aspect, including spaciousness and practicality, impressive rapid charging speed, excellent electric driving performance, and a convincing electric driving range."

Meanwhile, Autocar, first published in 1895, is the world’s oldest automotive magazine and annually selects and honors individuals and products that have achieved remarkable accomplishments in the automotive industry. The Issigonis Trophy is named after the legendary automotive designer and engineer, Alec Issigonis.
