South Korea and Paraguay Hold 'K-Police Solution Business Connect'
"Preparing Customized Package Support Measures for Emerging Markets"
The governments of South Korea and Paraguay announced on June 25 that they held the "K-Police Solution Business Connect" on June 24 to engage in substantive discussions aimed at expanding cooperation in the field of public safety equipment.
This event, jointly hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the National Police Agency, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Paraguay, was a B2G (business-to-government) exchange held in the form of a video conference. It was attended by around 20 high-ranking officials from the Paraguayan Ministry of the Interior and the National Police, representatives from nine promising Korean SMEs specializing in security equipment, and government officials, totaling more than 50 participants.
During the meeting, the Paraguayan Ministry of the Interior explained its procurement plans and the items in demand for the "modernization of public security infrastructure." Following this, nine leading Korean companies in the security industry introduced their innovative technologies and equipment through presentations. After the presentations, one-on-one B2G business matching consultations were held between the Paraguayan side and designated companies to explore potential cooperation.
This event is a representative follow-up achievement to the "MOU for Supporting Global Expansion of SMEs and Startups" between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, as well as the "MOU for Cooperation in the Public Safety Industry" between the National Police Agency and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Recently, the Latin American region has seen active investment in security infrastructure and is emerging as a promising market where export strategies centered on the technological capabilities of Korean SMEs can be effective. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to use Paraguay, a promising country in Latin America, as a foothold to strategically diversify export items and target markets.
Noh Yongseok, Director General for SME Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "We will further strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Police Agency so that this collaboration does not remain a one-time event and K-police products can spread throughout Latin America. We also plan to prepare customized package support measures for pioneering markets by linking K-strategic items such as cosmetics."
