The Busan Regional Veterans Office (Director Namil Lee) presented the Presidential Citation to Yoon Youngcheol, the great-grandson of the late independence activist Yoon Donghwi, on the 24th.

On March 23, 1919, Yoon Donghwi participated in the March 1st Independence Movement at Ipseok Market in Anju County, South Pyongan Province, distributing the declaration and shouting for independence together with the crowd. He was arrested during the protest and was later sentenced to eight months in prison, serving his sentence.
This citation officially recognizes and honors his contributions to the independence movement.
Namil Lee, Director of the Busan Regional Veterans Office, stated, "The sacrifices of independence activists are the driving force behind today's Republic of Korea," and added, "We will continue to strengthen our respect for the honorees and their families and do our utmost to honor their achievements."
