Up to 15 Members, Two-Year Term
The "Medical Education Advisory Group," which will provide policy advice on medical school education, is set to launch next month. This advisory group is a concrete realization of the "Medical Education Committee" mentioned by Lee Juho, Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, during a meeting with medical students in April.

On June 24, it was confirmed that the Ministry of Education is forming the Medical Education Advisory Group to advise on policies and institutional improvements related to medical education. The ministry has recently requested relevant organizations to recommend candidates for the group.
The Medical Education Advisory Group will consist of up to 15 members. The composition includes four medical students (including graduate students), two ex officio government members (the Director of Medical Education Support at the Ministry of Education and the Director of Health and Medical Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare), four representatives from the medical education sector, three from the medical community, and one each from the legal and media sectors.
The term of office is two years, with the group aiming to launch in July. The members will provide advice on the following: basic policies regarding medical education, improvements to systems related to medical education, and other matters concerning medical education, either at the request of the minister or when the committee deems consultation necessary.
Additionally, on this day, the Ministry of Education sent official letters requesting recommendations for members to the "Presidents' Council for the Advancement of Medical Schools" (the council of presidents from 40 universities with medical schools), the "Korean Association of Medical Colleges and Medical Schools" (KAMC), and the Korean Council for Medical Education (KCME). The deadline for recommendations is June 27.
