Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly to Develop AI-Based Budget Settlement Analysis Support System

The Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly is launching the development of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based budget settlement analysis support system.

On June 24, the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly announced that it held a kickoff briefing for the AI-based budget settlement analysis support system project in the medium conference room on the first basement floor of the assembly building. The event was attended by about 30 people, including Lim Chaeho, Secretary General of the Assembly, and budget analysts from the Budget Policy Office.

The AI-based budget settlement analysis support system will include the following: the development of a small language model-based template for generating budget settlement analysis reports; the operation of an intelligent budget settlement database; and the establishment of a database for laws and terminology related to budget settlement.

Once the system is established, it is expected to expand budget analysis for project areas closely related to residents' lives, such as opportunity income, the livelihood economy, safety, and care, thereby contributing to the improvement of residents' welfare.

Lim Chaeho, Secretary General of the Assembly, stated, "Until now, budget settlements have relied solely on the experience, knowledge, and data of budget analysts. However, with the implementation of the AI-based analysis support system, project evaluations will become more objective and accurate. As the assembly's budget review capabilities are strengthened, budget settlement analyses that are more beneficial to residents' lives will be achieved."

This project is scheduled to undergo pilot operation in October after testing functions such as report generation, financial statistics, and data search. Following actual operational checks and the incorporation of necessary revisions, the project is expected to be completed by December.
