Jin Kyohun, head of Gangseo District Office in Seoul, visited a public rental apartment complex in Deungchon-dong on the 24th to personally conduct electrical safety inspections aimed at preventing electrical accidents among vulnerable groups.
On this day, Jin Kyohun meticulously checked whether electrical equipment such as circuit breakers was functioning properly within the apartment complex and took practical measures, including personally replacing outdated electrical switches on site.

More than 40 people, including Jin Kyohun and employees of the Seoul Western Branch of the Korea Electric Safety Corporation, participated in this inspection, completing electrical safety checks for a total of 268 households. This project is part of the 'Electrical Safety Total Service,' which was launched under the 'Business Agreement for the Prevention of Electrical Accidents among Vulnerable Groups' signed between the district office and the Electric Safety Corporation in March last year.
The main focus of this service is to visit the homes of vulnerable groups, such as seniors living alone, basic livelihood security recipients, and people with disabilities, to inspect electrical installations and provide free replacement and maintenance of outdated circuit breakers and outlets.
Separately, the district is also working to establish a 'Smart IoT Electrical Safety Network' to prevent fires caused by electrical usage. Remote monitoring devices that analyze electricity consumption and detect abnormal situations in real time, 24 hours a day, have been installed in 44 district-run senior community centers.
Jin Kyohun emphasized, "According to last year's fire incident statistics in the district, a very high proportion of fires were caused by electrical factors," and added, "The Electrical Safety Total Service is highly meaningful as a proactive measure to prevent electrical accidents."
