Coupang Eats Service Supports Gyeonggi Delivery Partners with Safety Equipment

Free Distribution of Safety Items to Prevent Nighttime Accidents

Coupang Eats Service announced on June 24 that it will provide approximately 400 safety items, effective for nighttime driving, free of charge to those who complete the delivery partner driving practice safety training conducted by Gyeonggi Province. This support is part of the "Delivery Partner Safety Support Business Agreement" signed between Coupang Eats Service and Gyeonggi Province in May 2024.

The training is organized by Gyeonggi Province and implemented by the Korea Platform Freelancer Labor Mutual Aid Association, focusing on practical driving safety education. It will be conducted sequentially for a total of 200 delivery partners in the Gyeonggi Province area. The program consists of theoretical classes, including the basics of the Road Traffic Act and accident risk factors and prevention methods, as well as practical sessions covering proper driving posture, braking techniques, and how to respond to unexpected situations.

The training began in the Ansan area in May and is scheduled to be held a total of eight times in various locations such as Paju and Uijeongbu until September. In the Gangseo area, the training will be conducted for 50 delivery partners over two days, from June 23 to 24. Afterward, it will continue in Paju and Uijeongbu until September, and applications for participation can be submitted through the Korea Labor Mutual Aid Association website.

To help delivery partners drive safely, Coupang Eats Service will provide those who complete the training with safety equipment effective for nighttime driving, including LED light armbands (also attachable to helmets) and LED lights, free of charge. These items help improve visibility and field of view in nighttime driving environments and can help prevent accidents such as tripping while walking at night or collisions between vehicles.
