E8, a company specializing in digital twin platforms, announced on June 24 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Busan Digital Asset Nexus (Bdan) to build, plan, and issue a stablecoin platform utilizing AI digital twin technology.
This agreement is part of a strategic collaboration to create a digital economy ecosystem centered on real-world use within smart cities by combining digital twin technology with a blockchain-based digital asset distribution system.
The two organizations will cooperate on building, planning, and issuing a digital twin-based stablecoin platform. They also plan to jointly develop and demonstrate a distribution model linked to smart city operational data. In addition, they will actively collaborate to establish a related ecosystem to ensure smooth listing and distribution of digital assets.
E8 is designing the overall issuance and distribution structure of stablecoins linked to the market value of real assets such as gold and the US dollar. The company is also detailing the design of a stablecoin platform focused on real-world use, based on public infrastructure data within cities. Through this, E8 aims to realize a practical digital asset model that combines blockchain technology with urban data.
Currently, E8 is building a digital twin platform in Sejong 5-1 Smart City, a national pilot city. The company is also participating as a digital twin builder in the Busan Eco Delta Smart City project. Based on digital infrastructure, E8 plans to create a testbed to verify the practical use of stablecoins by utilizing real-time data on energy, transportation, and population activities within the city.
Meanwhile, Bdan is the first fourth-generation blockchain-based digital asset exchange in Korea. It is the only public-based exchange in the country, established with 100% private capital and led by the Busan Metropolitan Government. Bdan is implementing technological innovation in all areas, including security, processing speed, scalability, and interoperability, and aims to become a "fourth-generation decentralized blockchain exchange." Recently, Bdan has also actively participated in blockchain-based urban infrastructure projects, such as launching the development of a Web3 digital wallet within the "Busan Super App" through collaborations with Naver Pay and Hashed.
Kim Jinhyun, CEO of E8, stated, "This agreement is a meaningful first step toward opening a new digital asset distribution system by combining digital twin technology and the blockchain ecosystem." He added, "We will quickly complete institutional preparations, including trademark registration for stablecoins, to accelerate the commercialization of the platform."
