Cooperation for the Creation of Forest Recreation and Cultural Facilities,
and Restoration of Vegetation
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it had signed a 'Hwaseong-style Rest Forest Project Business Agreement (MOU)' with the Korea Forest Service on June 24.

This agreement, established to create urban forest green spaces and expand forest welfare services, includes the following: the development of forest recreation and cultural facilities to expand forest welfare services for urban residents; restoration of vegetation and expansion of forest green spaces to improve the urban landscape; promotion of the use of domestic timber and the spread of local timber culture to achieve carbon neutrality; and opening of urban green spaces to foster specialized forest welfare businesses.
With this agreement, the city plans to become a leading city where ecological value is harmonized with citizens' recreation and welfare by utilizing green spaces such as urban forests and forest recreation facilities.
Jung Myunggeun, mayor of Hwaseong, said, "This agreement is the first step toward further expanding Hwaseong City's green infrastructure and forest welfare services in a more comprehensive way."
