Introducing Noodle Restaurants and Dessert Cafes
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province has published a noodle dish-themed gourmet guide for tourists titled "Jeongeup Hururuk Tour."
According to the city on June 24, the guidebook "Jeongeup Hururuk Tour - Noodle Edition" (hereafter "Hururuk") was created to introduce local noodle restaurants to travelers visiting Jeongeup. It is designed to help visitors enjoy both gourmet experiences and the unique atmosphere of the city as they follow recommended travel routes.

In particular, the guide focuses on restaurants that are easily accessible on foot or by public transportation from Jeongeup Station. It features essential information such as signature dishes, unique characteristics of each establishment, and helpful tips for visitors. By adding local stories and atmosphere to the familiar menu of noodles, the guide proposes a simple yet special travel experience.
The appendix includes information about Naejangsan Mountain and nearby tourist attractions, along with the message "Enjoy a hearty bowl of noodles and take a walk," suggesting a course that combines gourmet dining and scenic strolls. The guide also introduces unique noodle dishes available only within the Naejangsan Special Tourist Zone, as well as "Beoseot Donyuk Kal," a mushroom and pork noodle soup developed by Chef Lee Wonil, which draws particular attention.
Additionally, the latter part of the guide features a special appendix titled "Top 10 Jeongeup Dessert Cafes." Carefully selected establishments range from cafes where visitors can immerse themselves in nature, to culturally inspired spaces, and uniquely themed venues, ensuring a memorable end to any trip.
A city official stated, "We produced this guidebook as a pilot project to meet the demand for one-point travel, with gourmet cuisine as its theme." The official added, "We hope to widely promote Jeongeup's unique noodle culture and charming cafes, which will also contribute to the local economy." The official further commented, "We will continue to discover diverse gourmet content to establish Jeongeup as a delicious travel destination."
"Hururuk" is available free of charge at the Jeongeup Station Tourist Information Center, Korea Tourism Organization's Hiker Ground, Jeonbuk Tourism Enterprise Support Center, and other locations. It can also be accessed in e-book format on the official Jeongeup City website.
