According to the county on the 24th, the event was attended by Gochang County Governor Shim Deokseop, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Council member Kim Manki, Seongsong-myeon Village Leaders' Association President Joo Hyukhwan, Seongsong-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee Chairman Jeong Jaehyung, Seongsong-myeon Youth Sports Association President Kim Byungsoo, as well as heads of local institutions and organizations in Seongsong-myeon and around 100 local residents.

The "Seongsong-myeon Park Golf Course" was created by investing 400 million won in special adjustment grants from Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, utilizing the lawn plaza in front of the existing Seongsong Sports Hall to build a 9-hole park golf course.

In line with the recent surge in popularity of park golf, the facility is expected to greatly contribute to improving residents' health and revitalizing leisure activities.

With the completion of the Seongsong Park Golf Course, Gochang County now has a total of four park golf courses (Gochang-eup Sports Town with 27 holes, Gosu with 9 holes, Sangha with 9 holes, and Seongsong with 9 holes).

Next month, the Gong-eum-myeon Southwest Area Park Golf Course (18 holes) is scheduled to be completed, and next year, the Woram Reservoir Park Golf Course (27 holes) and the Ungok Park Golf Course (18 holes) are also being prepared. By 2027, the county plans to expand park golf courses to the northern region (Heungdeok-myeon) as well.

Governor Shim Deokseop said, "Park golf is a healthy sport that brings together all generations and can be enjoyed by everyone. I hope that the Seongsong Park Golf Course will become a representative sports venue in Gochang where all residents can freely visit and share health and vitality."
