Fox News Interview
Vice President Vance: "Iran No Longer Has Nuclear Weapons Capability"
Says, "A New Era Begins with the End of the 12-Day War"
Vice President JD Vance claimed on the 23rd (local time) that due to the United States' provision of nuclear facility supplies, Iran is no longer capable of developing nuclear weapons.
Appearing on Fox News that day, Vice President Vance stated, "At present, Iran does not have the capability to make nuclear weapons with the equipment they possess, because we destroyed that equipment."
He continued, "This means that we now need to discuss the future with Iran and Israel," adding, "There is hope and expectation that, since we have completely eliminated Iran's nuclear program, they will not attempt to rebuild it."
Regarding the fact that, just before this interview, President Donald Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete and comprehensive ceasefire, Vance said, "When I left the White House, I thought we could cross the finish line and resolve this issue before this broadcast," and added, "And it seems the President has accomplished that."
He stated, "This could be a new opportunity for the Iranian people to pursue the path of peace," and added, "I believe the President has truly pressed the reset button. That has always been his goal. Looking back, we will say that these 12 days of war were a significant reset moment for the entire Middle East."
Regarding President Trump's statement that "the ceasefire will begin about six hours after both sides halt their ongoing operations," Vance explained, "That is when it is dark there, and it is generally the time when Israel and Iran attack each other. It is understood that (the attacks) may continue for a few more hours."
He added, "Tomorrow will be a truly new day. It will be the end of the 12-day war and the end of Iran's nuclear program."
