MainBiz Association: "Han Seongsook Is the Right Person to Lead SME Digital Policies"

The Korea Association of Management Innovation Small and Medium Enterprises (MainBiz Association) has expressed its support for the nomination of Han Seongsook as the Minister of SMEs and Startups.

On June 24, the MainBiz Association issued a statement, saying, "Candidate Han Seongsook is a digital innovation expert who led global business expansion and the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) services at Naver, the largest platform company in Korea." The association added, "She is the right person to establish innovation policies based on digital technology and to develop effective, field-oriented measures."

The association continued, "Today, small and medium-sized enterprises are facing complex crises, including entrenched low growth, low birth rates and an aging population, as well as uncertainties in the global trade environment." It further diagnosed, "In particular, the gap in digital transformation and the ability to utilize AI technology is having a significant impact on corporate competitiveness."

The statement added, "If Candidate Han is appointed as Minister of SMEs and Startups after the National Assembly confirmation hearing, we expect that she will actively support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises and AI-based management innovation, leveraging her extensive experience in the digital field." The association also expressed hope that "she will faithfully fulfill the role of a control tower for SME policies by preparing practical policies that reflect the voices from the field."

Finally, the association called for "improving the economic environment, which is skewed toward large corporations, fostering balanced development and an innovation ecosystem for our economy, and implementing bold, growth-oriented policy changes and initiatives."
