A Korean language speech contest was held at Saenal School, an alternative school for the children of Koryoin compatriots, delivering a moving experience.
According to Saenal School on June 24, the 12th annual "Korean Language Hanmadang" speech contest featured children from Gwangju Koryoin Village and multicultural youths who immigrated mid-way through their childhood. Participants shared their migration experiences, stories of adapting to life in Korea, and aspirations for the future.

The students candidly shared their life stories in Korean, conveying journeys of challenge and hope. As each presentation continued, both teachers and students were moved to tears, and the venue was filled with empathy and encouragement.
Established in 2007, Saenal School has so far graduated over 500 Koryoin and multicultural youths. Each year, outstanding participants from the speech contest advance to the finals hosted by the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education. The school has also produced numerous national award winners, including recipients of the Minister of Education Award.
