During his welcome speech at the opening ceremony on the 24th, Science and ICT Minister Sangim Yoo stated, "The Republic of Korea dreams of an even bolder leap forward in quantum technology," and added, "Quantum Korea 2025 is expected to serve as a stage for realizing such dreams and as a venue for collaboration that breaks down borders and builds partnerships based on mutual trust."

Launched in 2023, the Quantum Korea event attracted 5,534 visitors last year alone, establishing itself as the world's largest exhibition for quantum research and industry. This year, under the slogan "100 Years of Quantum, Awakening Industry," the event features a diverse program including an international conference, research and industry exhibitions, international cooperation events, public lectures, and various side events.

Following the opening ceremony, the 'Quantum Frontier Forum' will be held, where representatives from 12 countries, including Korea, will present their respective national quantum strategies. This provides an opportunity to gain a comprehensive overview of global quantum policy trends.

The event also draws attention for the participation of world-renowned leaders in quantum technology and industry. Notable speakers include Oscar Painter, a leading authority in quantum devices and quantum information hardware and currently the Head of Quantum Hardware at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and professor at the California Institute of Technology; Silvia Mertzbaher, President of the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C), who has served as Executive Director of the U.S. President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and has played a key role in the growth of the global quantum technology and industry ecosystem; and Kim Euna, a global pioneer in quantum and AI as well as quantum materials theory and a professor at Cornell University. Each will deliver keynote presentations on their respective topics.

Throughout the three-day event, a variety of international conferences will take place. The international academic conference, featuring leading researchers from Korea and abroad, will be held in the Miraero Room (3F) and will include presentations by a total of 24 speakers over three days. A specially organized industry conference will take place on the 25th in the Grand Hall (5F), where 13 speakers?including top experts from each technological field and representatives from quantum industry associations in the United States, EU, Japan, and Korea?will introduce various trends in quantum technology and industry ecosystems.

This exhibition, held amid the global acceleration of investment in the quantum industry for the 2025 International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, features participation from 57 companies and institutions from eight countries. Participants include the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, domestic government-funded research institutes, major universities, the three leading telecom companies (KT, SK Telecom, LG Uplus), mid-sized and small enterprises such as Megazone Cloud and SDT, and global companies and organizations such as France’s Quandella, IBM and IonQ from the United States, QuEra, Zurich Instruments from Switzerland, and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Korea.

During the event, the latest research achievements and products from companies and institutions leading quantum research and industry will be showcased. The main stage in the exhibition hall will also feature technology briefings by major participating companies. In addition, a variety of business meetings and events, including the Quantum Business Networking Night (on the evening of the 25th), will be held to foster new business opportunities and establish partnerships.
