While their parents were out working early in the morning, a tragic fire broke out in a Busan apartment where two young sisters were sleeping, resulting in the death of the 10-year-old older sister.
According to the Busanjin Police Station, at around 4:15 a.m. on June 24, a fire broke out in an apartment in Gaegeum-dong, Busanjin-gu, Busan. A neighbor, startled by the fire alarm, reported the incident to emergency services at 119. The fire was extinguished by firefighters who arrived at the scene in about 15 minutes, at approximately 4:31 a.m.
As a result of the fire, the 10-year-old and 7-year-old sisters, who were sleeping in their room, were rescued unconscious and transported to the hospital. However, the older sister ultimately passed away. At the time, it was reported that the parents were away from home, having left for work early in the morning.
The police plan to conduct a fire cause investigation in cooperation with the National Forensic Service.
