Realizing Superintendent Kim Seokjun's Pledge:
Declaration of Teacher-Led Practice for Future Education
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will hold the "Launching Ceremony for the Practice of Future Education with Teachers: Opening the Future of Classes with AI" at 4:00 p.m. on June 25 at Grand Moment in Nam-gu.
This event has been organized as a starting point to seek AI-based innovation in teaching, based on teachers' autonomy and creativity, in response to the rapidly changing educational environment, and to begin in earnest the teacher-centered practice of future education.
As part of Superintendent Kim's pledge, "AI for the Future of Korea's Children, Better Education in Busan," the event places emphasis on strengthening the role of teachers to provide personalized learning experiences for students in the rapidly evolving era of AI.
More than 200 participants will attend the event, including leading teachers in future education, representatives from digital-based education innovation research, leading and hub schools, and those in charge of AI and information education-focused schools.
The main programs include: ▲Reading of the AI Education Declaration ▲Special lecture on the direction of AI education in Busan ▲Presentations by teachers practicing future education.
The core of the event is the "AI Education Declaration," which contains teachers' commitment to not only introducing AI technology but also pursuing a qualitative transformation of educational philosophy and classroom instruction. Through this, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education aims to lay the foundation for teachers to independently envision a blueprint for classrooms that coexist with AI.
Taking this launching ceremony as an opportunity, the Office plans to continuously expand field-oriented educational innovation by promoting teacher-centered AI training programs and projects to develop future-oriented classroom support materials.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "Future education should move toward classroom innovation centered on students and teachers, not technology," and added, "I hope this launching ceremony will become a turning point where AI and education are harmonized."
